Shrimpers hope for better catch this fall

Flood waters may have contributed to a meager shrimp harvest since 2016, but local shrimpers are hoping conditions will be more favorable this fall. Albert Hebert of Berwick, a shrimper for 60 years, said the catch has been down during the past two years, and those shrimp haven’t been good-sized, either. High water in the region probably had a lot to do with the lackluster catch in 2016 and 2017, Hebert said.
