CENTERVILLE — If the St. Mary Parish School Board writes about what it did on its spring vacation, the top of the list might read “find $3 million.” In a special meeting Tuesday, the board heard that the school system’s budget will have to overcome a $2.9 million shortfall before the budget year ends June 30. The biggest single problem is a decrease in the system’s biggest single revenue source: state funding in the form of the Minimum Foundation Program.
