After three months of declining St. Mary Parish sales and use tax collections, May showed a slight uptick in overall collections.
The area economy hasn’t seen “a big upward push” yet of improvement, Parish Economic Development Director Frank Fink said. Still, as Fink stated last month, he anticipates some “major capital projects” will come to St. Mary within the next six months and help boost the economy.
