The Morgan City Council on Tuesday passed a 2020 budget that looks much like the 2019 budget, got a $1 million check from the parish government for road projects, and took up the burning issue of fire pits.
The council unanimously passed the $39.9 million budget, up about 1% from $38.6 million in the amended current budget.
The bulk of the budget is in the city’s utility system, expected to spend $21.8 million this year.
