Matte: Flooding demonstrates need for permanent Bayou Chene gate

A permanent floodgate on Bayou Chene likely would have allowed officials to prevent some of the recent flooding in lower St. Martin Parish, St. Mary Levee District Executive Director Tim Matte said.
