A 55-year-old Morgan City man was sentenced Friday to serve 15 years in prison at hard labor for the 2013 electric guitar beating death of his friend, whom he'd been living with after getting out of a drug rehabilitation program. District Judge Paul deMahy sentenced Keith Allen Murphy on a manslaughter charge in connection with the August 2013 death of Robert Michael Gasek, 57, of Morgan City. The judge gave Murphy credit for time served since his arrest. Murphy was accused of striking Gasek with an electric guitar twice when the two men got into an argument at Gasek's home. In his decision,
