BERWICK — Patterson, Berwick and Morgan City have been working on projects aimed at finding long-term solutions to flooding.
Concerned homeowners at council meetings and now the prospect of a tropical system that might deliver 10-15 inches of rain through this weekend are adding urgency to the search.
Two high-water events, on April 4 and June 7, have fueled particular concerns.
In Berwick, the June 7 rainfall of at least 4 inches put water in 39 homes and hit the Country Club Estates Subdivision hard. Residents asked for help at the June 11 Town Council meeting. Many were back for Tuesday’s meeting.
