Louisiana’s budget woes and the 2017 justice reform package are posing big challenges to the state’s district courts, a district judge said Monday.
Judge Vincent Borne was guest speaker during a St. Mary Industrial Group luncheon at the Petroleum Club of Morgan City.
He serves as Division C judge in Louisiana’s 16th Judicial District, which covers St. Mary, St. Martin and Iberia parishes. There are eight judges in the district.
Borne, a lifelong Franklin resident, took office as a judge in 2013 after having previously been an assistant district attorney for 16 years.
