An effort to look for ways to diversify and develop the area’s economy got a boost Tuesday from the Morgan City Council.
The City Council voted 3-2 to commit $20,000 to help fund an economic development and diversification study. St. Mary Excel, which consists of a group of Morgan City area residents, is trying to get financial commitments from councils and boards to hire Urban Land Institute at a cost of $135,000 to fund the study.
