Changes made to festival due to rain

Organizers with the 82nd Louisiana Shrimp & Petroleum Festival have made several changes to the festival because of the rainy conditions. The festival will start Thursday and continue through Monday. Due to the uncertainty of the weather, the Cypress Corvette Club Car Show, which was scheduled for Saturday on the grounds of the former M.D. Shannon Elementary School, has been postponed until after the festival weekend. A new date has not been set yet. The Children’s Day activities to be held from 8:30-10 a.m. Saturday will take place at the former M.D. Shannon Elementary building, instead of Lawrence Park.
