CENTERVILLE — St. Mary Parish public school students are counting down the days until May 26, when their summer vacation begins. Now they know when that vacation will end. The School Board approved the 2017-18 calendar at its meeting Thursday. Among the highlights: —Students will begin the 2017-18 school year Aug. 8. —The school year will end May 25, the Friday before Memorial Day. —The Christmas break will be Dec. 22-Jan. 2. —The Easter holiday will be March 30-April 6.
