Humanity is quickly dividing itself into two groups: the hackers and the hacked off. Attacks on the computer systems on which we rely for almost everything have become a regular nuisance. And they threaten to be much more than a nuisance. The internet, the worldwide protocol for computer-to-computer contact, makes it possible to order goods online, connect to a streaming video service and share cat pictures on Facebook.
