After completion of Hancock Whitney Bank's acquisition of MidSouth Bank, Morgan City MidSouth customers will be asked to take their business across Brashear Avenue.

Local bank branches will merge

Staff Report Hancock Whitney Bank announced the pending closure of nine MidSouth bank branches last week, a result of Whitney’s pending acquisition of Lafayette-based MidSouth. Meanwhile, Whitney is urging customers at Morgan City’s MidSouth branch, 1015 Brashear Ave., to “visit our nearby financial center … at 1100 Brashear Ave., Morgan City” when “the merger is complete,” according to information posted by Whitney online. The merger is expected to be complete sometime this fall.
