The deal that would turn over operation of Teche Regional Medical Center to Ochsner Health System is now with the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office for review.
That was the word Wednesday from the St. Mary Parish Hospital Service District No. 2 chairman, Dr. Bill Cefalu, at the district’s monthly meeting.
The agreement between Ochsner and the district was signed last week, Cefalu said, and forwarded to the office of state Attorney General Jeff Landry.
Approval of the agreement would settle a year of uncertainty for the 167-bed hospital and hand its management over to a solid replacement.
