Morgan City may soon have a new business that assembles firearms. But it may take a couple of months for the starter’s gun to go off.
The City Council heard Tuesday about Trojan Firearms’ plan to begin work here, consolidating operations from Idaho and California, in a building in the area near the 7900 block of La. 182 East.
But the new business, which Vice President Eric Geibel told the council will hire 10-15 employees, will require an amendment to the city ordinance prohibiting the discharge of firearms within the city limits.
