Cleco's Community Fund awards $100,000 to nonprofits

The Cleco Community Fund, a fund of Community Foundation of Acadiana, awarded seven grants totaling $100,000 to nonprofits in Acadiana. The grant recipients will focus on a wide variety of causes. St. Mary Outreach and its Promise of Light program will assist residents who are experiencing financial difficulty with paying their utility bill. Catholic Services of Acadiana will purchase durable hospital furniture for St. Joseph Emergency Shelter. The shelter provides a sleeping area, bathrooms and common space for nearly 200 low-income male citizens.
