Local business Alumni Shop for Him and Her, 1035 La. 70 in Morgan City, celebrated 50 years of retail services in St. Mary Parish on Friday. The Alumni Shop had its grand opening on Saturday, Sept. 20, 1969. Owner Billy Giordano commemorated the anniversary with a golden ribbon-cutting at the store’s location. Giordano was joined by his children—Kelly Pizzolato, Michelle Giordano, and Joseph Giordano—as well as his grandchildren, store employees, members of the St. Mary Parish Chamber of Commerce, and both parish and city elected officials for the ribbon-cutting followed by a celebration in the store.
