Mother can’t understand why son walked away

As Mother’s Day approaches, many of us begin to reflect on the important role our mothers and grandmothers have played in our lives.
DEAR ABBY: I am tattooed. I have 11 spread over my body. I grew up with strict rules. My mom always said no piercings (other than ears) or tattoos while I was under her roof.
DEAR ABBY: My daughter passed away nine years ago. She was almost 13. My mother never bothered to have a relationship with her when she was alive.
