St. Mary Parish AARP Chapter 4435 conducted its annual Christmas Fruit Basket Project, assembling and distributing baskets to its members aged 80 and older. With the assistance of project sponsors, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith and St. Mary Parish Assessor Jarrod Longman, many St. Mary AARP volunteers made and delivered nearly 300 fruit baskets. This year, they expanded delivery routes to include members in Houma, Thibodaux and Labadieville.
