Madison Jones of Morgan City won first place All Around in level 2 gymnastics at the 2017 Houston National Invitational Gymnastics at the Moody Garden Resort in Galveston, Texas, in February. She placed first on the bars with a 9.8, fourth on the vault with a 9.3, second on the floor exercise with a 9.7 and first on the balance beam with a 9.200. Berwick resident Jayde Lasseigne, competing at the New Orleans Creole Classic at the Mel Ott Recreation Center in Gretna Feb. 18, scored a perfect 10 on the balance beam. Lasseigne, 12, who competes in level 2 gymnastics for Jennings Gymnastics, is the first Jennings Gymnastics competitor to score a perfect 10 in any event in the last 8 years.
