Central Catholic High School held its homecoming game Friday in which the team defeated Hanson Memorial 16-12. At halftime, Quincee Wiggins was crowned homecoming queen. Morgan City High School held its 10th annual Pink Game Monday against Berwick at Morgan City High School. Prior to the game, the two teams gathered for a check presentation to Roots and Ribbons, a local foundation that will distribute the money to help St. Mary Parish cancer patients. MCHS sweeps Berwick in 10th annual Pink Game

Morgan City High School swept Berwick 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-22) in Morgan City’s 10th annual Pink Game Monday in Morgan City.

Cooper LeBlanc, a Central Catholic High School senior, is the school’s 2017 Wendy’s High School Heisman Award winner. LeBlanc is a multi-year letterman in football and lettered a year apiece in baseball and track. He received athletic all-district honors at linebacker in football in 2016 and academic all-district honors in the sports he’s lettered in during the past three years. Off the field, LeBlanc is a member of the school’s Student Council, where he serves as the senior class president, while he also participates in the National Honor Society, among other activities. Taylor Picou, a Central Catholic High School senior, is the school’s female Wendy’s High School Heisman Award winner. Picou is a multi-year letterman in volleyball, basketball and softball in which she has earned athletic and academic district honors in each. Among her off the field activities are participation in the Sisters-in-Christ organization and Student Council, in which she is her class’s vice president.
