Vermilion Catholic defeats Central Catholic via a walk-off hit

No. 5 Central Catholic mounted a huge rally in the latter innings and nearly forced extra innings with No. 1-ranked Vermilion Catholic in the Division IV semifinals Saturday at Frasch Park. However, Vermilion Catholic got a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh to advance to Saturday evening’s final. Trailing 8-2 after three innings, hope looked all but lost for Central Catholic.
