VC shuts out Central Catholic, 29-0

Vermilion Catholic dominated Central Catholic 29-0 to capture the District 8-1A championship Friday at Tiger Stadium in Morgan City. Vermilion Catholic standout quarterback Drew Lege left the game with an injury and didn’t return, but the Eagles couldn’t capitalize. The highly-regarded junior has thrown for over 5,000 yards the last three years. But Andrew Marceaux, the backup quarterback, came into the game and never looked back.
