The Berwick Panthers received a one-hitter on the mound from pitcher Mitchell Sanford, while its offense pounded the baseball in a 10-0 run-rule victory against H.L. Bourgeois Thursday in first-day action at Central Catholic’s baseball tournament.
Sanford, who just missed throwing a perfect game, tossed all five innings and fanned eight. Of Sanford’s 53 pitches, 42 were strikes.
