Led by Mitchell Sanford’s one-hitter on the mound, the Berwick Panthers defeated Kaplan, 3-0, in District 8-3A action in Berwick Thursday. Sanford, who earned the win, pitched a complete game and surrendered two walks, hit one batter and fanned 12 in seven innings. Offensively, Berwick scored a run in the fourth and two in the fifth. Lucas Hatch led Berwick with a 2-for-3 performance with two doubles and an RBI.
