Richwood pulls away from Patterson in second half

Patterson High School ran out of gas in the second half of Friday’s 68-53 Class 3A Bi-District playoff loss to Richwood at Patterson. While Richwood, the No. 19 seed, featured several players 6-feet, 4-inches or taller, Patterson, the No. 14 seed, used its team speed on defense to disrupt the Rams. Richwood jumped out to a 7-0 lead before Patterson settled down to claw its way to a 10-all tie after one quarter. The Rams took a 25-19 halftime lead in a defensive struggle. Richwood started to use its size advantage on the offensive boards early in the third quarter.
