Patterson, Lafayette High to meet Friday

A big second half doomed Patterson in a 41-32 loss to Assumption Friday in Napoleonville. Patterson (1-1) led at halftime but lost the services of standout Dajon Richard because of an injury. “(Quarterback) Randy (Paul) and Dontre Nicholas really stepped up for us when Dajon got nicked,” Patterson Coach Ryan Stewart said. “That opened some stuff up for us downfield, and we showed that we have other weapons we’re developing.” Paul, a sophomore, completed 17-of-30 passes for 220 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.
