Patterson falls to Westlake, 8-0

The Patterson Lumberjills fell to Westlake, 8-0, in Class 3A first-round playoff action in Westlake Monday. “Westlake played a great game,” Patterson coach Matt Lipari said Wednesday. “We fought hard but could not get the timely hits when we needed them.” Lipari said the Lumberjills had players on base and those in score position nearly every inning and “were within striking distance” until the 5th inning. “Our senior pitcher Tapanga Haven pitched a great game,” Lipari said. “We had a couple of errors in the 5th, and they took advantage of it and made it an eight-run game.” No individual stats were available from ...
