Morgan City High School finished the weekend 2-0 at Centerville’s Tournament of the Teche with wins against Houma Christian and West St. Mary. Friday, Morgan City defeated Houma Christian 55-39. Morgan City led 15-8 after a quarter, 30-21 at halftime and 44-31 after three periods of play. Tylan Bennett led Morgan City with 18 points. Other Morgan City scorers were Jaquan Gray, 12; Nylan Francis, nine; Tyland Boatman, seven; Devonta Grogan, four; Lorenzo Johnson and Leo Garrett, two each; and Elijah Singleton, one. Saturday, Morgan City defeated West St. Mary 69-65 in overtime. Morgan City, which trailed 36-35 entering the fourth quarter, edged West St.
