MCHS' Peterson inks with Nicholls beach volleyball

Morgan City High School’s Karmen Peterson sent off her highlight tape to Nicholls State University hoping to get a shot on the school’s indoor volleyball team. While she said she was told there were no spots available for the indoor squad, she was offered a spot on the school’s newly-formed beach volleyball team. Peterson made local history Tuesday when she became the Tri-City Area’s first volleyball player to sign a beach volleyball scholarship. Peterson said beach volleyball will be a big difference from the indoor game. “It’s going to be a great difference,” she said. “I have to know every position to play.
