Despite a valiant late fourth-quarter surge, the No. 19 seed Morgan City High School just couldn’t get quite get past No. 3 seed Westgate High School and into the Class 4A quarterfinals as Morgan City fell, 68-62, in regional round action in Morgan City Tuesday.
Trailing 58-50 with 3:54 left in the fourth quarter following a three-pointer by Westgate’s Eron Phillips, Morgan City went on a 10-2 run to tie the game at 60 on Ke’Sean Francois’ three-pointer with 1:40 remaining in the contest.
