The Patterson Lumberjills have endured injuries this season but also have a young squad.
Despite all of this, the team’s expectations are higher than a year ago, assistant coach Trevor Richard said.
“This year we have way more expectations than last year,” Richard said of the squad, which finished 7-9 a year ago. “Last year, we finished off with five girls, so basically I’m trying to build the program back up. This year we have 14 girls.”
The team is led by sophomore guard Zorrie Spain, who Richard said is the team leader.
