No. 2 seeded Lakeshore High School started the Class 4A state baseball playoffs with a bang Tuesday afternoon at home.
The Titans pounded out 12 hits en route to a 15-0 opening-round playoff victory against No. 31 Morgan City.
The game was called in the fifth inning because of the 10-run mercy rule.
With the victory, Lakeshore (29-4) advances to take on Morgan City’s District 7-4A foe, No. 18 Assumption, in a best-of-three series starting Friday afternoon. Assumption advanced after defeating No. 15 Cecilia 9-5 in other first-round action Tuesday.
The Tigers finished the season with a 9-21 record.
