Destrehan High School snapped Central Catholic’s six-game winning streak with a 9-1 win at Destrehan Tuesday.
While Central Catholic took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, Destrehan scored nine unanswered as the Wildcats plated two runs in the bottom of the first, two in the fourth, one in the fifth and four in the sixth.
Destrehan outhit Central Catholic, 10-4, while Central Catholic committed three miscues to Destrehan’s two errors.
Gregory Leger suffered the loss. In five innings, he surrendered five runs — three earned — on eight hits with one walk and struck out two.
