Central Catholic shuts out Vermilion Catholic, 4-0

Central Catholic scored two runs apiece in the fifth and sixth innings of a 4-0 victory against Vermilion Catholic in District 7-1A action in Amelia Wednesday. Blake Hidalgo earned the win. In seven innings, he surrendered three hits and fanned 12. Samarick Paul led Central Catholic with a 2-for-3 performance with two doubles, an RBI and two runs. Other top offensive contributors included Tyler Longman, 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run, and Drake Angeron, 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
