Central Catholic High School staved off an upset bid from Houma Christian to capture the District 6-V championship with a 3-1 (25-15, 21-25, 25-8, 27-25) win in Houma Wednesday.
Central Catholic, ranked No. 5 in the latest Division V power rankings, finished the district season with a 3-0 mark, while Houma Christian, ranked No. 21, concluded league play at 2-1.
