No. 8 Central Catholic will host district foe and No. 9 Vermilion Catholic in Division IV regional-round softball playoff action in Amelia at 5 p.m. Monday. Each team finished with 9-3 marks in league play and shared the District 7-1A runner-up spot. The two teams split their games against each other in district play as each team won on the other’s home field by one run. Central Catholic defeated Vermilion Catholic 6-5 in Abbeville, and Vermilion Catholic won the second game 8-7 in 10 innings in Amelia. Vermilion Catholic (13-6) had no common opponents with Central Catholic (21-9) outside of district play.
