The Central Catholic Eagles fell to the Assumption Mustangs 59-31 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans Saturday evening.
Central Catholic fell behind early, trailing 13-5 after a quarter and 33-8 at halftime. The Eagles outscored the Mustangs in the third period to cut their deficit to 41-25 after three quarters, but Assumption came back with a 17-6 fourth-quarter scoring advantage.
Taylor Blanchard and Demondrick Blackburn led Central Catholic with nine points apiece. Other Central Catholic scorers were as follows: Tyler Smith and D.J. Lewis, four each; Vernon Singleton and Kye Morgel, two apiece; and Davidyione Bias, one.
