Berwick to travel to Jena for 3A first-round playoff game Monday

The Tri-City area’s prep softball teams will begin postseason play Monday as Berwick travels to face Jena in first-round action. Berwick (11-19), Class 3A’s No. 22 seed, will meet Jena (17-10) in a 5 p.m. contest after taking a three-plus hour trip. The Lady Panthers come into the game hoping to snap a two-game losing streak, falling most recently to Morgan City, Class 4A’s top-ranked squad, 10-0, in five innings Wednesday.
