Berwick holds off Erath, 5-4

The Berwick Panthers held off Erath for a 5-4 victory in District 8-3A action in Berwick Monday. While Berwick initially rallied from a 3-0 first-inning deficit with five runs in the third, the Panthers surrendered a run in the top of the sixth to Erath. However, Berwick reliever Chad LaGrange struck out two with the bases loaded to end Erath’s threat. In Berwick’s five-run third, the Panthers got four runs via a grand slam by Zeph Hoffpauir.
