After Monday’s federal approval of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine, moves by private and public entities to require vaccinations have begun. And so has a backlash.
The Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival Assoic-ation in Iberia Parish has "made the difficult decision" to cancel this year's festival, which had been scheduled for Sept. 23-26.
Ochsner Health System, which operates Ochsner St. Mary in Morgan City, will require its physicians, employees and providers to be vaccinated against COVID-19 by Oct. 29.
The number of new COVID-19 cases reported for St. Mary on Tuesday was 29, a drop from recent daily counts of 80 or more.
