Sanford earns ALL-USA Louisiana baseball honors

Berwick High School junior outfielder Mitchell Sanford recently was named a second-team selection on the American Family Insurance ALL-USA Louisiana Baseball Team.
Berwick High School track and field standouts Kenan Jones, top, and Josh Carver, above, recently earned Louisiana Sports Writers Association All-State Track and Field honors. Jones made the composite list of all classes with the top leap in the long jump, and he was tied with several others, including Carver, for the top leap in the high jump. Berwick High School had two members of its track team record a combined four marks that landed them Louisiana Sports Writers Association All-State Track and Field team honors recently.

The Berwick High School boys track and field team, which finished as both the Division II Indoor State Runner-up and the Class 3A Outdoor State Runner- up, was recognized during the St. Mary Parish School Board's June meeting.
