Fletcher marks 75th anniversary

Fletcher Technical Community College is celebrating a historic milestone as the college reaches its 75th anniversary, marking 75 years of changing lives through education, workforce training and community partnerships. Originally opening its doors as South Louisiana Trade School on July 2, 1951, Fletcher has grown from a small trade school into a comprehensive community college serving students and employers across South Louisiana. Today, Fletcher offers academic transfer programs, career and technical education, workforce training, adult education, and industry partnerships that support some of Louisiana’s most vital sectors, including health care, manufacturing, maritime, aviation, energy, information technology, and transportation.
