Central Catholic defeated St. John in five games in nondistrict volleyball action in Plaquemine Tuesday.

A groundbreaking for the remodeling of the newly renamed Jimmy Johnson Memorial Park was held Tuesday at the basketball court at Fourth and Greenwoods streets under the U.S. 90 overpass in Morgan City.
