Four Tiger TDs in spring scrimmage
Morgan City High School concluded spring practice Thursday with an intrasquad scrimmage.
Head Coach Chris Stroud reported four touchdowns scored.
He said quarterback Charlie Wells had two touchdowns, while Jacquan Gray had two touchdown runs.
Stroud commended the six starters he had that played on both sides of the scrimmage and his linemen for elevating their play.
“Hilton Hebert (and) Jonathan Perou were dominant on both sides of the trenches,” he said.
Stroud said the scrimmage was “sloppy,” and he would have liked to see more physicality, though.
“But better than last season,” he said.
Thomas Carter also saw time at quarterback, and Stroud said he did well, completing a 40-yard pass to Logan Linston.
The Morgan City coach said Johmonte McNeely and Leo Torres played well on defense.
“Torres was great blocking on (the) perimeter on Gray’s TD runs,” Stroud said.
