MCHS sweeps Delcambre

Morgan City High School defeated Delcambre 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-15) on the road Tuesday.
As a team, Morgan City had 10 aces and five solo blocks.
Sh’diamond Holly led Morgan City with 13 kills, one assist and two solo blocks. Other top Morgan City contributors included Kennedy Hebert, eight kills, two aces and six digs; Jolee Nini, 23 assists, three aces and three digs; Haylie Crappell, two aces, three digs and one solo block; Allie Vincent, one ace and seven digs; Scottie Metrejean, two aces and two digs; and Jamia Francois, one kill and two solo blocks.
In junior varsity action, Morgan City defeated Delcambre 2-0 (25-18, 25-19).
Morgan City had seven aces and five solo blocks.
Karmen Peterson led Morgan City with two kills, five aces, one dig and five solo blocks. Other top Morgan City contributors included Brynn Stephens, three kills, one ace and three digs; and Mary Vincent, seven assists.
Morgan City (5-3) will return to action Thursday when it begins play in its own tournament.
H.L. Bourgeois
sweeps Berwick
Berwick High School fell to H.L. Bourgeois 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-8) at Berwick Tuesday.
Alyssa Gray led Berwick with two kills, four assists, five digs and one block assist. Other top Berwick contributors included Katie Conrad, three kills, one ace and five digs; Hannah Henry, five assists and four digs; Maci Broussard, one ace and 11 digs; Morgan Toups, two kills, two digs and two solo blocks; Brittany Roberie, one kill and five digs; Abby Sanford, five digs; and Hanna McCue, one kill, one dig and one block assist.
Monday, Berwick defeated Thibodaux 3-0 (25-14, 27-25 and 25-18) in Thibodaux.
Berwick had seven aces.
Gray led Berwick with six kills, five assists, one ace, 17 digs and two solo blocks. Other top Berwick contributors included Henry, one kill, eight assists and seven digs; McCue, six kills and four digs; Roberie, one ace and 16 digs; Sanford, one ace and eight digs; Broussard, four aces and six digs; Toups, two kills, one assist, one dig and one block assist; and Ryleigh Arnold, one kill, one assist, and block assist.
Patterson falls
to Ellender
Ellender defeated Patterson in four games at Patterson Tuesday.
After falling in game 1, 25-12, Patterson responded with a 26-24 win in game two. Ellender took games three and four by scores of 25-19 and 26-24, respectively.
Patterson (1-1) will return to action Wednesday when it hosts Abbeville.
