MCHS edges Plaquemine

Morgan City High School avenged an earlier-season loss with a 52-50 victory against Plaquemine High Monday in Morgan City.
While Morgan City led 11-9 after a quarter and 29-18 at the half, Plaquemine outscored Morgan City 24-13 in the third quarter, and the teams entered the fourth quarter tied at 42. Morgan City won the game with a 10-8 scoring advantage in the final period.
Ke’Sean Francois and Morrquise Charles led Morgan City with 11 points apiece. Other Morgan City scorers were Tywaun Walker, eight; Taaj Daniels, five; Jared Singleton, four; Deondre Grogan, two; and Tyland Boatman, one.
Last month, Morgan City fell to Plaquemine 69-64 in overtime at White Castle’s tournament.
Morgan City (8-1) returns to action Friday when it travels to face defending Division IV state champion Lafayette Christian Academy.
