Grogan named All-South Region Rookie of the Year

For the second consecutive season, the Louisiana College men’s basketball team had a player selected to the d3hoops.com All-South Region Team.
This year, freshman guard Taylan Grogan was named the All-South Region Rookie of the Year after a stellar first season with the Wildcats.
Grogan, a Patterson High alum, finished one of the best freshman seasons in years with a selection to the American Southwest Conference East Division All-Freshman Team and earned an East Division Honorable Mention.
However, he was passed over for ASC East Freshman of the Year.
Grogan led Louisiana College to a 5-1 mark in February and averaged 22 points per game during that stretch, all in conference play.
This season, Grogan averaged 13.6 points per game, second best on the team, and he was one of two freshmen to rank in the top 20 in scoring in the conference at season’s end. Grogan scored 300 points and led the team in 3-point field goals and free throws made.
He was named East Division Player of the Week after leading the Wildcats to back-to-back wins with 29-point games against LeTourneau University and the University of Texas at Tyler.
