Bids shall be
accepted only from
contractors who
are licensed under
LA-R.S.37:2150-
2163 for the classification

MECHANICAL.

office of the Engineer,
Associated
Design Group,
Inc., 3909 West
Congress Street,
Suite 201, Lafayette,
Louisiana

5710 and are open
for inspection
without charge.
Mechanical Contractors
may obtain
contract documents
from the
Engineer by paying
a deposit of
Twenty Five Dollars
($25.00). The
full amount of the
deposit, on the
first set, will be
refunded to each
contractor who
submits a bona
fide bid, upon return
of the documents
in good condition
within ten
(10) days after the
receipt of bids.
Additional sets of
plans and specifications,
if available,
may be
obtained by Contractors
and Material
Dealers upon
making a deposit
in the amount
named above. Upon
return of these
documents, in good
condition, one half
of the deposit will
be refunded, the
difference representing
the cost of
printing, assembling,
and distributing
the sets. No
refund will be
made on any set
not returned in
good condition
within ten (10)
days after the
receipt of bids.
No bid may be
withdrawn after
the scheduled closing
time for receipt
of bids for thirty
(30) days.
Each proposal
must be accompanied
by a bid bond,
a certified check,
or cashier’s check
in an amount
equal to at least
five percent (5%) of
the amount bid,
made payable
without condition
to the Owner as a
guarantee that the
bidder, if awarded
the contract, will
promptly execute
the contract documents.
The bid
security of all bidders,
except the
three lowest, will
be returned
promptly after the
canvas of bids.
All contractors
and/or subcontractors
whose bid
exceeds Fifty
Thousand Dollars
($50,000.00) shall
be licensed under
R.S. 37:2151-2163
of Louisiana Law.
The St. Mary

Board reserves the
right to waive any
and all informalities
in, or to reject

Minutes of
Meeting
January 15, 2025
Members Present:
William Miller,
LaGenia Bradford,
Vincent Byrd,
Edward Austin,
Terreance Johnson
Members Absent:
None
Others Present:
Jerry Boyles,
Barry Dufrene
Mr. Miller opened
the regular
meeting leading
the Board in the
pledge of allegiance.
The minutes of
the regular meeting
held on December
18, 2024, were
reviewed. Mrs.
Bradford made a
motion to accept
the minutes. Mr.
Austin seconded
the motion. The
motion passed.
Mr. Dufrene presented
and reviewed
the financial
statements
presented to the
Board. A motion to
accept the report
was made by Mr.
Austin and seconded
by Mrs. Bradford.
The motion
passed.
Mr. Johnson
made a motion to
pay outstanding
invoices. Mrs.
Bradford seconded
the motion. Mr.
Johnson, Mrs.
Bradford, Mr. Austin,
and Mr. Miller
voted yes. Mr.
Byrd abstained.
The motion passed.
The Board discussed
revising the
rates being charged
for room rentals
in the District’s
building. They
also discussed
deposits securing
the rental when
contracts are signed
for the room
rental. Mrs. Bradford
made a motion
to table the discussion.
Mr. Byrd seconded
the motion.
The motion passed.
Mr. Boyles presented
his report
to the Board. Upon
a motion by Mrs.
Bradford and a
second by Mr. Austin,
the Board
authorized Mr.
Boyles to purchase
and replace the
storage building
which was destroyed
during
Hurricane Francine
with a 12’ X
16’ storage building.
The motion
passed.
With there being
no other business
to discuss, a motion
to adjourn
was made by Mr.
Byrd and seconded
by Mr. Johnson.
The motion passed.

Prevention Program
Dear Morgan
City Water Customer:
The City of Morgan
City, in complying
with Louisiana’s
Department
of Health and Hospitals
Backflow
Prevention requirements
for
Water Systems, is
updating our
cross-connection
control and backflow
prevention
program. The purpose
of the program
is to prevent
contaminants from
entering the drinking
water supply
by identifying
risks and taking
corrective action to
protect our drinking
water.
In order to comply
with the Louisiana
regulations,
it will be necessary
to conduct a brief
survey of the water
use on your property.
In most cases,
the survey process
should take approximately
15
minutes depending
on the size of
your facility. The
City’s contractor,
Backflow Prevention
Services LLC,
will be stopping by
at some point
during the next
few months to perform
the survey
and answer any
questions you may
have regarding the
City’s program.
The contractor’s
representative will
have the proper
credentials identifying
himself as
the City’s representative.
The City appreciates

and cooperation
in this endeavor
so the City can
continue to supply
our customers
with clean, safe
drinking water.
