Sheriff: Man caught with cocaine, meth in search

A 30-year-old Patterson man was caught with cocaine and methamphetamine after detectives conducted a search warrant at his home, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum said in a news release.

—Brennan Tabor, 30, of Hendricks Street in Patterson, was arrested at 9:32 p.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of hydrocodone, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of a controlled dangerous substance law-drug-free zone.

St. Mary Sheriff’s Office narcotics section detectives and members of the Morgan City Police Department narcotics division conducted a search warrant at a home on Hendricks Street.

Detectives located bags of powdered cocaine, methamphetamine, a glass pipe used for smoking illegal drugs and a hydrocodone pill in Tabor’s vehicle, Anslum said.

During the execution of the warrant, detectives seized other illegal drugs at the home, Anslum said. Detectives say arrest warrants are pending from the investigation. Tabor was jailed with no bail set.

Anslum reported that deputies responded to 48 complaints and reported the following arrest in east St. Mary Parish:

—Kacy Norman, 32, of Nevada Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:13 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of violation of protective orders.

A deputy responded to the call for service and found that Norman contacted the victim via phone violating a court order. Norman was jailed with no bail set.

Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported that officers responded to 39 calls and reported the following arrests:

—Cortez Francois, 22, of Garber Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant charging him with attempted simple burglary and criminal trespassing.

Francois was located and arrested at the police department on a warrant. The warrant stems from a March 19 investigation when officers responded to the area of Aycock Street in regard to an attempted vehicle burglary.

Francois was identified as a suspect in that investigation. Francois allegedly attempted to gain entry into a vehicle, Blair said. The investigation continued and a warrant was prepared for Francois’ arrest. Francois was jailed.

—Louis D. Topham, 42, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:39 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of theft by shoplifting.

Patrol officers responded to a business in the area of La. 182 in regard to a complaint of a shoplifter. Officers arrived and Topham was identified. Topham allegedly took merchandise valued at $25.90, Blair said. Topham was jailed.

Berwick Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrest:

—Ingrid Brown, 33, of North Eighth Street in Thibodaux, was arrested at 8:53 p.m. Tuesday on charges of stop sign violation and driving under suspension. Brown posted $1,250 bail.

Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
